This combination of quality products and services has resulted in a growth opportunity. As we expand our marketplace further, we have a requirement for a Full Time Workspace Design Specialist to join our team.
Reporting to the Workspace Planning & Design Manager, the prime objective of the Workspace Design Specialist is to assess client needs and produce accurate drawing layouts and specification lists in support of office systems furniture. This individual may also from time to time be called upon to deliver project coordination services in support of the execution of the design.
Essential Job Functions
- Able to think outside of the box and has a creative approach to projects
- Attend client meetings and planning sessions to review project scope and assess programming needs
- Develops space plans and furniture typicals based on analysis
- Conducts field measurements and existing furniture inventories
- Responsible for the development and accuracy of project drawings and furniture specifications
- Accountable for transmitting complete and accurate project documentation to the team for order entry and installation
- Provide working drawings to third party contractors as needed (A&D firm, GC, electrical sub, IT, etc.)
- Collaborates with internal departments and external resources on project scope
- Populate space plans and furniture typicals
- Provides accurate lists of existing, reuse and new componentry needed in reconfigurations
- Accounts for correct quantities on specifications matching approved drawings
Minimum Qualifications
- Post-Secondary education in a related Field (Interior Design, Architectural Technician)
- Extensive knowledge of product; lines, features, applications and technical capabilities
- Has a technical approach to projects and is detail oriented
- Proven ability to read and interpret floor plans and technical drawings
Skills Requirements – Essential
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Canvas (CET), Project Spec
- Basic understanding of project management principles, techniques and method
- Expert knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Superior communication skills (written and verbal)
- Excellent presentation skills
